A Statement from the CONsole Room Convention Committee

What. A. Year.

It feels like ages ago when we all gathered for CONsole Room 2020. We know that things are challenging for many right now, the global situation is changing rapidly, and that there is a lot of uncertainty. We also know that we have an amazing geeky community here in Minnesota and it’s in these difficult times in particular that this community joins together and lifts each other up.

As such, we have a couple of announcements to make:

First, we are still moving ahead with planning for CONsole Room 2021 at this time. Our 8th annual convention is scheduled for January 15-17 and is much too far away for us to make any decisions regarding cancellation or postponement at this time. However, the health and wellbeing of our attendees and fellow fans is of the utmost important to us. Please know that we are continuing to monitor the global COVID-19 situation and will follow global and local guidance put in place by the WHO, CDC, Minnesota Department of Health, and Minnesota Governor Walz.

Second, to help bring our community together while we’re all apart, we will be hosting a series of virtual panel events and activities over the coming weeks. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter and join our #WhoItYourself Community group if you haven’t already to make sure you don’t miss any of the events. We will post a schedule as soon as possible, but, in the meantime, we invite you to join the discussions happening in the #WhoItYourself group and share your own activities.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay compassionate. We will get through this together.
