CONsole Room 2015 Wrap-Up & CONsole Room 2016

CONsole Room 2015: The Twin Cities Dilemma has come to an end and we hope you had an amazing weekend! Whether you were there just for one day or you spent the entire weekend with us, we hope our panels, programming, and guests provided you with a great experience and fun memories. Special thanks to all our staff members and volunteers because we truly couldn’t make CONsole Room happen without you.

Now, let’s do it all again next year! CONsole Room 2016 will be materializing at the Hilton Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport once again next year, from 3-5 June. We had an amazing response to the pre-registration opportunity we offered on-site at the convention – thank you to everyone who already bought a membership! We’ll be opening up pre-registration to everyone in the near future, so keep an eye on our website as well as our social media pages in the weeks to come as we get those details finalized.

Don’t think we haven’t started doing some planning for next year already though! In fact, we’ve already got two guests to announce:

  • Anneke Wills – Anneke played Polly Wright, companion to the First and Second Doctors, from 1966-1967
  • Dominic Glynn – Dominic re-arranged the iconic Doctor Who theme tune for Season 23, The Trial of a Time Lord, and also composed the incidental music for that season and other 1980s episodes.

We hope to see lots of familiar faces (and plenty of new ones, too) next year! In the meantime, share your CONsole Room 2015 memories and feedback with us via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or e-mail at info@console-room.mpls.cx.

See you in 2016!

Guest Update

With CONsole Room 2015 just 3.5 weeks away, we’re sad to announce that a few of our guests have had to bow out. Sam Stone and David J. Howe are no longer able to attend due to a very unexpected health issue and artist Brent Schoonover has conflicting work the same weekend as CONsole Room. We’ll definitely miss having them this year, but wish them the best and hope to bring them to another convention in the future!

With this news, we’ve been hard at work finding additional guests and we’re excited to announce that Gareth David-Lloyd, better known as Ianto Jones from Torchwood, will now be joining us for the weekend! Sponsors and mixer ticket-holders can see him at the Thursday evening mixer and all attendees will see him at panels and autograph/photograph sessions throughout the weekend. Torchwood fans unite!

In addition to Gareth, we’re also happy to have Twin Cities author Daniel Wallace with us. Daniel has written a number of reference guides, articles, and short stories about the Star Wars universe and we’re glad to have him with us to share his knowledge during the weekend. We can’t wait for you to see both Gareth and Daniel in a few weeks!

Don’t forget that pre-registration closes THIS FRIDAY, so if you want to get in on all this fun, get your membership before then! Head over to our Registration page to get the process started.

Allons-y!
